Sophie is an abstract artist based in Sunshine Beach, Queensland
Her practice is founded in a love of colour and she has been exploring a spherical form in her paintings. She layers the canvas with loose markings until the right harmony is achieved.
Her abstract works explore concepts of time, experiences and the natural beauty of her bushland, seaside location.

A creative career
Sophie has always maintained an illustrative practice and in 2023, she accelerated her painting practice. She’s studied with various teachers over the years, including Abstraction Painting at the Byron School of Art with Michael Cuasck (2018), Fine Art at Verrocchio Art Centre in Italy (2010) and private lessons with abstract artist Amy Clarke in Eumundi (2023).
Parallel to this Sophie’s been a copywriter for the past 20 years. Career highlights include writing for Guinness in Dublin and working with Geoffrey Rush for Unicef.
Sophie also studied textile design and created “Bed Toppings” - sheets that turn beds into giant objects. Her hand illustrated collection were stocked in Top 3 By Design and Third Drawer Down. They featured a giant chocolate bar, sardine tin, flower bed or pencil case.
